Yankees Acquire Nick Swisher
Here’s Pete Abraham’s report… Yankees have acquired Nick Swisher from the White Sox. Swisher has three years and $22.05 million remaining on his contract, which includes a $10.25 million option for 2012.
The Yankees are taking a risk with Swisher after his performance last season.. Cashman says their hoping for a repeat of Nick’s ’06 and ’07 numbers. This is plan B should they not be able to land Tex. Swisher can also play the corner outfield.. but they already have alot of those guys.
They also got Double-A right-hander Kanekoa Texeira as part of the deal. The Yankees sent Wilson Betemit and minor-league pitchers Jeff Marquez and Jhonny Nunez.
I’m not jumping for joy over this deal… but the Angels must be happy about it. Look for some changes to the theme of his website http://www.nickswisher.net

he’s gonna have to shave that crap on his chin. if they get Tex, maybe they’ll trade him again. unless their planning on trading Damon.. they they will need a left fielder.

i think the yankees know something we dont. they realize that Tex is more than likely going to sign with LA and is out of play. pitching is priority and thats where the money will go.
