Yankee Hot Stove Thoughts and Musings
Monday, December 21st, 2009While digging out from the recent Nor’Easter a few thoughts about recent Yankee hot stove activities…
Hideki Matsui: Farewell sir. You were a great Yankee. We enjoyed your powerful bat and MVP performance during the World Series. You will be missed.
Curtis Granderson: You know those few players that when you watch them play you say “man I’d like that guy on my team”? Granderson is one of those guys. The centerfielder issue is finally solved. Move Melky to RF and Swisher to LF.
Nick Johnson: Welcome back Nick! We need a solid DH now that Matsui is a west coaster. Hopefully all the autographs I have of you in Yankee jerseys will gain some value now.
Johnny Damon: Johnny… we love ya. But your greedy agent is asking for too much. I think he forgot that you are a defensive liability. We would hate to lose you but… we got Granderson and Johnson now and also a lot of options for outfield. I think a Mariner’s or Met’s uni is eminent.
Alex Rodriguez: No hip surgery.. HOORAY! Now he can focus this off season on prep rather than rehab. As for his departure from Kate Hudson… Hopefully he’ll find a new girlfriend that helps is plate performance!
Xavier Nady: It appears the Red Sox are interested. Do we really care?
Andy Pettitte: Well done guys signing Andy for another year. He pitched his ass off in 2009 and we all hope to see him in the post season one more time.
Only about 8 more weeks until spring training…. Stay warm.
